Module 1 - Learning About Difference at Work

  • Explore some of the underlying reasons for human behaviour that can result in people being treated differently at work.
  • Learn the underlying concepts of “equality and diversity” including “stereotype”, “prejudice” and “discrimination.”

Module 2 - Rights and Responsibilities Under UK Law

  • Learn the basics about UK anti-discrimination law.
  • Understand your rights and responsibilities under the law and employers’ policies.
  • Give you some options for putting this into practice.

Module 3 - Communicating and Co-operating With Dignity

  • Enable you to ensure that your team and your customers are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Explore some of the ways people think differently and understand how this can contribute to the perpetuation of stereotypes and prejudices.
  • Identify ways to discuss and challenge the way you and your team members think about valuing diversity in employment.

Module 4 - Develop a Positive Working Environment

  • Explore some approaches to developing a positive working environment.
  • Learn about some diversity issues for selecting the right team in a fair way.
  • How to give feedback to change unacceptable behaviour and prevent harassment and bullying.
