History

Future Strategies Consulting Ltd (FSC) was established in 2000 by John Jones and has since grown to be a major training provider in the North East, delivering work-based training to over 7,000 learners each year.

Recognising that there was a gap within the market, FSC was formed to deliver change management programmes that were driven by key performance indicators. Working with a small team of professional trainers with diverse skills and experience, John Jones was able to develop a customer care programme that enhanced the skills, knowledge and competence of those who completed it.

Through proactively marketing this change programme, FSC was able to attract the attention of a large Local Authority and a local hotel leisure group. Such was the success, the delivery of these programmes was highly instrumental in the growth of FSC. Positive outcomes for the clients and their learners led to repeat business and recommendations, so it wasn’t long until FSC had raised its profile.

To enhance the offer and the effectiveness of the programmes, FSC approached a number of colleges across the region with the view of working in partnership and delivering our change programmes under the colleges’ funding streams. This gave FSC a unique opportunity to provide local employers with fully subsidised training and extend its capacity to deliver. From working with a small team of professionals, FSC was now able to invest in creating a strong infrastructure that would allow the company to grow and build its network of professionals.

In 2002, changes within the Government’s priorities and significant investment in Health and Social Care presented a fantastic opportunity to extend the Company’s services into vocational training. Building relationships with independent care establishments and groups, FSC soon emerged as a leading provider of Health and Social Care NVQs and Apprenticeships across the region. Rapid expansion followed which resulted in the company partnering national care groups.

Working in such partnerships has developed a level of responsiveness and expertise that few providers can match. FSC has now delivered in excess of 70,000 vocational and competence based programmes to the care sector, making us one of the largest independent training providers in the UK.

In 2007 FSC launched FLEX, a unique range of distance learning material. FSC brought together over 25 subject specialists to develop a range of over 300 modules. The range allowed FSC to develop a resource that could address almost every conceivable training need at every level within an organisation. Since its introduction, over 7,000 learners have benefited from FLEX programmes.

During 2008 FSC decided to transfer its knowledge and experience of delivering teaching and learning into other sectors. Working in partnership with the one of the world’s largest organisation, FSC developed a unique leadership and management programme that utilised online competency assessments and coaching methods to provide ongoing development to its learners. The programme has since been extended to include customer service employees, and has provided a fantastic model for other clients to implement.

In response to the economic climate, FSC confirmed its commitment to lowering unemployment within the North East and helping people re-enter employment by launching Work Focused Training and our Apprenticeship Academy in 2010.
